🌶 #ProductReview : @caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Essence
The skinny: Health Geenie Approved, very effective and WILL buy again. #CleanBeauty #KoreanBeauty #AllSkinTypes
Purpose: gentle exfoliation, skin brightening and smoothing
Cool ingredients: #GlycolicAcid (removes dead skin cells), grape water (moisturizing)
    Price point: $49 for 150ml
    🌶
    The thick 😏:
A light, oil free, Korean inspired but French made beauty essence that will brighten and smooth your skin after only one use. (For those new to Korean beauty, an essence is a concentrated formula that specifically targets wrinkles, fine lines, and dull and uneven skin tones)
I love this product, I somehow ended up in the right place at the right time and received a goody bag from Sephora with 3-hefty Caudalie samples and this is by far my favorite. I use it at night maybe 2-3x per week especially when my skin is feeling dull or semi-congested.
It doesn’t burn or tingle and is gentle enough for me to use regularly. It also lasts a long time because I use it all the time and I barely have gone through 1/3 of it.
The ingredients that make it work? Glycolic acid and grape water.
Glycolic acid, a powerhouse of exfoliants, is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid that helps prevent breakouts, clear dead skin, AND alleviates hyperpigmentation.
Grape water, which is not a super common ingredient in skin care is exactly what it sounds like. Derived from organic grapes it is said to soothe and hydrate your skin which is EXACTLY what you want when you’re exfoliating.
As with any product review I won’t post about it until I’ve used it for at least a week.

🌶 This tea recipe is my take on a classic Ayurvedic healing tea that warms the body, helps with digestion, boosts the immune system and just tastes so damn good.

Ayurvedic medicine (or Ayurveda) is one of the worlds oldest wholistic medicinal systems. It was developed over 3000 years ago in India and, like many “eastern” traditional medicinal systems, it’s based on the belief that wellness must be approached holistically and that health must be the pursuit of the balance between mind, body, and soul.

Much of Ayurvedic healing emphasizes the importance of digestion and anti-inflammation. Which makes a lot of sense because much of your bodies health is dictated by the health of your stomach and inflammation is the proximate cause of more than several diseases.

When committing to wellness it’s really important to decolonize your mindset and consider the vast amounts of knowledge available to us that exist beyond “modernity” and euro/white centrism.

Today’s recipe tea is to heal the stomach, warm the insides, and to reduce inflammation in the body. It is spicy and warm and smooth and supports your immune system with raw honey, pepper, and lemon. A hefty dash of cinnamon supports digestion and is high in antioxidants. It also takes cardamom but I was out of that lol
This tea takes around 45 minutes to make as you slowly boil all the ingredients until it’s slightly thick and extra spicy.

I can post detailed recipe if you want but until then, stay healthy and sip slow!

        🌶 Happy Ti-Tea Tuesday!!
        Did you miss me?!
        I apologize for disappearing.
But I ended up on the most wonderful last minute vacation and I swear every time I tried to post I just couldn’t get myself to disconnect. I think after a year of being locked inside with not many ways to connect outside of social media, I kind of seized the first moment I could to connect and not look at a screen.
I hate that I broke my consistency though so next time I travel, knowing that I like to be super present, I’ll be sure to take a formal hiatus 😁

But now? I’m back. And it’s Tuesday and I have this post which I made the Tuesday I left (2-weeks ago) a post from the Tuesday I was there (last week) and also post for today.
        Better late than never right?!

I tried to capture what was a long but lovely 12 hour travel day. We started at 6am, took an Uber to the airport, had breakfast and TEA, then took two flights, a private car, walked a few blocks in pouring rain, took a ferry, a taxi, and then arrived to one of the best vacations I’ve had in forever.

        Happy Tea Day lovers!
        Missed you guys 🤍

          🌶 TI-TEA TUESDAY TEA REVIEW:
Yesterday I was driving down #Rockville Pike and saw a huge sign that said “Yi Fang Tawain Fruit Tea”

          I immediately made a U-Turn and ended up on a glorious tea-adventure.
Yi Fang is an international tea brand and cafe that sells fruit tea, boba tea, lattes, smoothies, snacks and a bunch of other interesting things.

Fruit tea is tea that is sweetened with fresh fruit jams and fresh fruit.

I tried the Yi Fang Fruit Tea which was made with Taiwanese mountain tea (which google informed me was Oolong) and then braised with passion fruit, pineapple, and fresh seasonal fruits (mine had oranges and apples).

I ordered it exactly the way the staff recommended it and it was super refreshing and delicious and after one sip I wished I had ordered a large instead of a medium.

I also ordered the Brown Sugar Pearl Matcha Latte. I love brown sugar and I love matcha so I was super excited.
So the Matcha Latte was super good but I made the fatal mistake of not requesting that they use non-dairy milk and I don’t drink milk so even though it was tasty I had to immediately abort mission LOL

All in all. I loved Yi Fang and I can’t wait to go back and try some more teaaa.
Have you ever seen a Yi-Fang cafe? Have you ever tried Taiwanese Fruit Tea? Have you ever almost died because you accidentally drank half a cup of whole milk in a matcha latte? LOL
          Stay health and sip slow
