America's Fading Empire — and Canada's Choice

Under Trump, America no longer looks like the indispensable nation. Institutions once central to its strength — science, law, education, pluralism — are weakened. Foreign policy is chaotic and erratic, leaving allies alienated and rivals emboldened. The result: a superpower increasingly isolated and disparaged.

But while the US stumbles, smaller states are moving forward. The Agreement on Climate Change, Trade and Sustainability (ACCTS) is just one example of countries linking market access to climate action. Across the Pacific, Latin America, and the Global South, new frameworks are taking shape — focused on climate resilience, sustainable development, and regional security. These are the foundations of a multipolar world.
